Wall Leaf Hook
This hook was also inspired by early medieval Gothic era ironwork, specifically the hinges of the Notre Dame Cathedral, using some of the same ancient techniques. To reproduce each leaf exactly, an open die is created by forging the cold original leaf into a hot piece of steel. The newly formed mold is then cooled and hardened and ready to receive new hot steel on the powerhammer.
The hook is forged from mild steel and finished with beeswax and linseed oil.
Upon checkout, please select which hardware you want to be included in your order. We recommend using screws for installation onto drywall to prevent damaging the surface of the wall upon removal. However, if you are looking for a more traditional look, and don’t plan on moving the hook anytime soon, a hand-forged nail will look great. Please reach out with any installation questions!
The hook measures 5 inches in length and extends 2 inches from the wall. Keep in mind, this is a handmade item and there will be variations among each finished piece.
