Single Candle Wall Sconce

$92.00

We designed this single candle wall sconce with our small bathroom in mind. To be better stewards of our circadian rhythms, we wanted to make using candles more accessible and efficient. We were previously forever shuffling a candle stick between the toilet tank, seat, and bathtub rim, and it was always in the way. Having the candle mounted on the wall is so much easier.

Recently we’ve been more strict about not using artificial lights at night, inspired by our new baby’s early bedtime of course. He usually falls asleep at blue hour, and usually three or four nights a week when we can make dinner early and keep all the lights off - the mood stays oh so peaceful. We obviously can’t get anything done after but that’s the point. The darkness is the point. The darkness makes relaxing feel natural and not forced. It helps you get out of your head and into your body. But the one thing we always need a bit of light for at night is showering and brushing our teeth.

The design of this wall sconce is unique in that it has an integrated candle cup forged from a continuous piece of steel. The geometric design was inspired by medieval ironwork. It holds a standard 7/8th taper candle and is finished with beeswax and boiled linseed oil.

A black oil-finished screw is included in your order. We recommend using screws for installation onto drywall to prevent damaging the surface of the wall upon removal. However, if you are looking for a more traditional look, and don’t plan on moving the wall sconce anytime soon, you can add a hand-forged nail to your order. Please reach out with any installation questions!

The wall sconce measures 15 inches in length and extends 4 inches from the wall. Keep in mind, this is a handmade item and there will be variations among each finished piece.
